Let's Play Catch...Up!

Okay...so I've realized that among other things I've let my new-found relationship with the blog fall by the wayside. It's not that I don't want to give you all a daily glimpse into our life - it's that I don't always find the time. Even with my mother-in-law here to help with the chores, play with Nicholas, or hold the baby it seems that there just isn't enough time...geesh, I'm in trouble when she leaves!! With a new baby I feel like I am constantly breastfeeding. So, when I'm not doing that I want to play with Nicholas or get "stuff" done (even though "stuff" never amounts to anything substantial).

Anyway, on with it we go.

Today, Nicholas showed a teency bit of jealousy (for lack of a better word). Simply put he just didn't want me to hold Karly. He didn't want me to hold her or feed her (well, obviously I have to hold her to feed her:)). He tried to take Karly to hold and then wanted to give her to Daddy. I understand...I guess I even feel sad about it. I just want him to always know that he's my #1 little guy. At the same time I want him to understand that his sister is equally important. BUT, I want to accomplish this without him ever feeling sad, mad, or left out...is that too much to ask?

As for the pictures...

We went to the beach this weekend! Nicholas LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the beach. Whenever we walk out the front door all he wants to do is walk to the beach.

Dad is holding him up here. YEAH!

We were leaving the beach. Nicholas didn't want to. Although this picture appears to show a happy toddler...he is NOT! Actually he was quite upset. We've found that if he doesn't get a nap around 2pm we're in big trouble later. Here he is showing his defiance. He laid here until dad picked him up and then cried the whole way home. We took a nap upon arrival!

Karly's first bath was delayed due to a little irritation around her belly button. FINALLY, she took the big dip!! If I remember correctly Nicholas didn't really like his first bath...Karly didn't mind it. Aside from a couple spouts of the goose bumps she was fine!

It was a family affair. Myself and Nicholas did the bathing and Dad and Grandma took care of the photo shoot.

Nicholas truly loves beans. Any kind of beans. Due to his low iron levels this is a great thing...in other ways, ummmm, not so great! Last night we made (heated up) some baked beans. Mmmmm...as Nicholas would say. After he helped me put them in the saucepan he decided to eat a few handfuls.

We set Karly up on the dining room table for some pictures in a new outfit...thanks Grandma! Here is Nicholas posing on the lovely pink backdrop. Note: notice the 2 different shoes again...this is becoming a pattern for him.

Here is Miss Karly striking a pose! She is sporting a BEAUTIFUL new flower bow made by the very talented Miss Jill (Rosey Posey Bows is her business on Etsy.com)! Jill also made Karly an amazing tutu (which I plan to take a picture of in the next few days). Anyway, I can't wait until Karly's hair is long enough to play with with things like this!

Nicholas loving on Karly. He likes to hold her hand...or her to hold his finger.

More kisses...

Here is the new outfit I was talking about. She looked so darn cute!!

So much to comment on so little room to type. I love the blogging, keep it up. Nicholas is so cute on the beach, and I adore the shots of Karly in her new clothes and also the two diff shoes (hilarious). I am so happy you have help right now. It is such a precious commodidty when you have a newborn. Hope to keep reading more updates! She is looking more like Nick.

Super cute pictures! The expression on Nicholas' face when he's wearing the two different shoes is the same face that Owen makes these days. So funny!

Adorable. Thanks for keeping up the blog. Totally understand about not having the time. The pictures are way to cute. Isn't it fun having one of each???

Love the pictures, Holly!! At least Nicholas only tries to give Karly back to Dad when he thinks you shouldn't be holding/feeding her so much. Liam used to try to throw her away! Just yesterday he told me, "Mama, Nora is yucky. I'm done with her. You need to go back to the doctor and have him put her back in your belly." Um, yeah. Not so much!! :) Enjoy every minute. Nora's already almost 7 months old and it feels like just yesterday she was born!!
